Colston Bassett will be battling it out against Shepherds Purse’s Harrogate Blue in a taste-off at the Harrogate Speciality Food Show. Monkhouse Food and Drink Owner, Clare Downes and Judy Bell from Shepherds Purse will be presenting a seminar on the history of blue cheese and how the traditional Colston Bassett Stilton may differ in taste, texture and production to the newer Harrogate Blue. The two presenters will provide visitors to the show, which takes place on the 23rd and 24th June, with a chance to sample both cheeses and vote for their favourite! A handful of food and drink matching tips for blue cheese will also be available to encourage experimentation – including a couple of winning entries from our Stilton sandwich competition. The cheese samples will also be paired with food and drink, such as Ginger Beard beer from Wychwood Brewery.
