Nottinghamshire Cheesemaker voted England’s Dairy Food Provider of the Year
Colston Bassett Dairy is making space on the shelf for another trophy after being named the Food Awards England Dairy Provider of the Year. The latest food industry gong celebrates and rewards the very best in English food hospitality and its suppliers.
Simply the best
This year, the third annual Food Awards was held at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly on Monday 24th October. The awards recognise the efforts of England’s restaurants, takeaways, pubs, hotels, cafes and bistros, as well as shining the spotlight on the local producers, who provide their delicious ingredients. Colston Basset faced stiff competition from dairies across the length and breadth of England. Other awards ranged from Best Street Food to Restaurant of the Year; with other local Nottingham business, Cafe Roya also collecting an award for Best Vegetarian Establishment.
Industry favourite
The finalists and winners in The Food Awards are nominated and voted for by the public and commend the talented individuals and businesses who are dedicated to delivering high-quality food to customers. Commenting on their success, Billy Kevan, Dairy Manager at Colston Bassett Dairy said: “What a tremendous win! We are so pleased that Colston Bassett Dairy has been recognised as a quality provider. As this award is based on a public vote, it’s especially rewarding to know that consumers recognise the value our cheeses and our team’s continued dedication to excellence.”
This is the latest win for Colston Basset this year. August saw the Nottinghamshire dairy awarded a Gold medal for Shropshire Blue and a Silver medal for Stilton in the International Cheese Awards. They scooped a further three stars for Stilton, and two stars for Shropshire Blue at this year’s Great Taste Awards, also in August. This ongoing recognition, on a global level, demonstrates the exceptional cheese making skill of Colston Bassett, now considered England’s best!
